The PAHO/WHO Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands country office collaborated with the infection Prevention and Control (IPC) unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) The Bahamas, to host the Second Annual National Infection Prevention and Control Workshop that took place on the 11th of October 2025. This year’s theme was “One Archipelago, One Goal: Infection Prevention and Control for a Healthier Tomorrow”, highlighting the MOHW goal of uniting healthcare teams across the archipelago to strengthen infection prevention systems for better community health.

The one-day workshop was attended by over 100 healthcare personals from across the country and highlighted the importance of coordinating IPC activities with public health emergencies, patient safety, quality of care, antimicrobial resistance, health promotion, immunization, and other public health related programs, and vice-versa. 

Representing the South Beach Clinic, these nurses united with their peers across the country to strengthen community protection.
