PAHO is looking for a Health Emergencies Consultant for the Caribbean Sub-region

The Health Emergencies Department (PHE) of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) is looking for a consultant to support the strengthening of the health sector’s capacities in prevention, risk reduction, preparedness, surveillance, response, and early recovery for emergencies and disasters in the Caribbean subregion. 

Profile of the Candidate: 

Education requirements (Minimum Qualifications)
At least a university degree in a health, social, or environmental science and a master’s degree in a health science, public health, or in a discipline related to emergency and disaster management from a recognized institution.

Experience requirements
At least nine years of combined national and international experience in a managerial position in public health, social services, or disaster management (prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery).

Languages
Very good knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of Spanish and/or French would be an asset

Duration and location of the contract:

The consultancy is for a duration of 1 year (1 August 2021-31 July 2022) and will be based in Jamaica.
