The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) invited adolescents between 12 and 19 years of age in the Americas to participate in the "Adolescent Voices" creative contest, on the occasion of the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Week to be held in September in Latin America and in October in the Caribbean.
From July 15 to August 10, 2022, more than 200 creative pieces were submitted from adolescents from 22 countries in the Americas. The participants competed with original works created exclusively for the contest and selected one of eight creative categories: comic, drawing, illustration, narrative, painting, poem, song, and video.
The jury, composed of specialists from PAHO and the Youth for Health Group, selected six original creative works as winners as stated in the contest guidelines: three from participants between the ages of 12 and 15, and three from participants between the ages of 16 and 19.
The winners will receive cash prizes (between US$500 and US$150), and their original works will be published in PAHO communication channels and/or campaigns related to the topic of Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention.
