Artificial intelligence is transforming the way health data are generated, analyzed, and used. For these technologies to be adopted responsibly, health teams need to understand their scope, limitations, and the conditions required to apply them using ethical, safe, and people-centered approaches.
In practice, this involves strengthening capacities to understand basic concepts of artificial intelligence, recognize its potential uses in public health, assess risks such as bias or privacy concerns, and make informed decisions regarding its adoption within health systems.
Digital literacy in artificial intelligence is not intended to train technical specialists, but rather to provide tools that enable decision-makers, health teams, managers, professionals, and other key stakeholders to actively participate in digital transformation processes.
Below is the range of activities and resources available to advance these capacities.
