Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Overview of Food Security and Nutrition 2025 Statistics and trends
| |
SynopsisThe 2025 digital edition of the Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Overview of Food Security and Nutrition presents the status of key food security and nutrition indicators, based on the latest available data. Its purpose is to inform analyses at both the regional and the country levels, while supporting opportunities for greater coordination and the adoption of measures that respond to national realities and contexts. The most recent data shows that levels of hunger and food insecurity in the region have decreased for four consecutive years. However, despite these improvements, persistent inequalities remain across the region. In addition, all three subregions had the higher cost of healthy diets compared to the global estimate; and malnutrition in all its forms, including child stunting, micronutrient deficiencies and obesity continues to be a major challenge.
