Nutrition in early stages of life: Implications and challenges in the Americas’ Region

The Latin American Center for Perinatology, Women's and Reproductive Health (CLAP) of PAHO/WHO invites you to the virtual seminar:
"Nutrition in early stages of life: Implications and challenges in the Americas’ Region".

The objectives of this event are:

  • Identify the implications of health and nutrition care in early life.
  • Recognize the available evidence on essential nutritional interventions and nutrition and growth monitoring directed at newborns, particularly those who are small and critically ill.
  • Recognize the importance of strategies that contribute to initiating and sustaining breastfeeding in young and critically ill newborns.
  • To identify areas of knowledge gaps and challenges to be addressed at the different levels and actors involved in the care of newborns.

The proposal is aimed at health personnel dedicated to the care of newborns, as well as civil society organizations interested in the subject.

Simultaneous translation will be provided in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
