Webinar | Between urgency and resilience: culturally aware strategies to address measles outbreaks
PAHO CIM webinar measles eng

As of epidemiological 19 of 2025, 4,378 measles cases and 7 deaths have been confirmed in the Americas, a 19-fold increase over the same period in 2024 (225 cases). The spike in outbreaks is related to factors such as resistance to vaccination in some communities such as Anabaptists (Mennonites) and their cross-border mobility, which facilitates the spread of the virus.

The Comprehensive Immunization Program of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) will hold a webinar to review the status of outbreaks, control measures, and strategies to address vaccine-hesitant communities from a historical and cultural perspective. This webinar is aimed at health personnel involved in outbreak detection, case notification, and response.
