Barcelona Supercomputing Center opens call for proposals to develop automatic semantic indexing systems

Indexacion semantica

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) in Spain holds an open call for researchers and medical professionals to develop semantic indexing systems for health-related texts in the Spanish language. This call for proposals uses bibliographic description data from the IBECS and LILACS databases, available at the Virtual Health Library (VHL), as well as the controlled DeCS thesaurus - a MeSH translation and extension - available in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and French, maintained by BIREME/PAHO/WHO.

BIREME/PAHO/WHO is in the process of establishing a technical cooperation agreement with the BSC to develop capacities and tools for indexing and semantic retrieval of scientific and technical health literature, using artificial intelligence technologies, and collaborates with this call for proposals by facilitating access to IBECS, LILACS, and DeCS/MeSH metadata.
