Organizational Structure and Members of BANVACO
The Bank will have four governing bodies: a Board of Directors, Associate Members, a Coordination/Administration Management, and a Technical Advisory Committee.
All countries in the Americas are eligible to join, not just COSALFA member countries. Participation in BANVACO will be granted or confirmed upon approval by the Board of Directors.
The procurement of antigens and vaccines will be conducted through international tenders in accordance with PAHO regulations. Manufacturers from around the world will be eligible to participate.
Boards of Directors
Comprised of the official delegates of each full national authority (hereinafter “Full Member”) of BANVACO, one representative from the Inter-American Group for the Eradication of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (hereinafter “GIEFA”), and the Director of PANAFTOSA. The last two members do not have voting rights in the decisions of the Board.
Associate Members
National organizations from other countries in the Americas may participate as Associate Members of BANVACO, provided their membership is unanimously approved by the Board of Directors and they comply with all requirements applicable to Full Members, except for the signing of the Constitutive Agreement with PAHO.
Coordination and Administration Management
Technical and administrative personnel who carry out activities to support BANVACO’s operations. These personnel will be hired or made available by PANAFTOSA, subject to the availability of resources.
Technical Committee
An advisory body composed of up to five specialists in relevant areas for BANVACO’s management, external to PANAFTOSA.
