Participate in the webinar to launch the “Panorama of Diabetes in the Americas” Friday, November 11, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm (EST), held by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to mark World Diabetes Day 2022

The purpose of this event is to highlight the importance of diabetes as a public health problem and the challenges and opportunities existing in the region to improve its prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

This virtual meeting will introduce the Panorama of Diabetes in the Americas, a technical report developed by PAHO's Department of Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health (NMH), which integrates data and updated information on the status of diabetes in the region.

Objectives

  • Highlight the importance of diabetes as a public health challenge.
  • Present the technical report Panorama of diabetes in the Region of the Americas as a resource that integrates updated information and data on diabetes, its main risk factors, and related complications.
  • Highlight the resources available from PAHO/WHO to strengthen health education related to diabetes.
  • Highlight the relevance of health education for adequate control of diabetes.
  • Share country experiences that are relevant to the region
