13 Selected Experiences of the Contest in Health Promotion in the Region of the Americas

The Health Promotion team at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Organizing Committee of the Contest for Significant Experiences in Health Promotion in the Region of the Americas is pleased to announce the results of the contest, highlighting the thirteen most significant experiences in the Contest in the following settings: municipalities/cities, schools, and higher education institutions/universities.

Selected Experiences

The 464 applications received in the Contest were evaluated aby a group of over 50 Health Promotion experts in the Region of the Americas. An International Jury, composed of experts from PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centres, members of the Organizing Committee, and members from the Contest evaluation group selected the most significant experiences in each setting in the following categories:

  3. Building Knowledge in Health Promotion
  4. Intersectoriality

Summary of the Applications

PAHO/WHO sincerely thanks the participation of each contestant in the Contest for Significant Experiences in Health Promotion in the Region of the Americas. The sum of the applications will allow PAHO/WHO to appraise the progress done in the Region of the Americas.

Identifying successes, progress, and challenges in the Region will serve to guide technical support and resources, focusing and prioritizing according to the needs expressed in the Contest. This will be an opportunity for participants, leaders in different countries and settings, to open channels of communications that promote spaces for exchange of knowledge and experience.
