PAHO Deputy Director Jon K. Andrus participated in the First Vaccination Forum/Workshop this week in Colombia. The event was organized by Colombia's National Academy of Medicine (ANM) to analyze the importance of vaccines in disease prevention, the need for evidence-based decision-making for the introduction of new vaccines, and how to protect populations at risk. Other participants included Minister of Health Beatriz Londoño, PAHO/WHO Representative Ana Cristina Nogueira, and representatives of academia and the health services.
