Access to safe, quality and cost-effective medicines and technologies is an essential requirement for achieving universal health, which countries of the world have committed to reach by 2030.

The Revolving and Strategic funds consolidate country orders for the purchase of vaccines, syringes and supplies, in the case of the former, and for the purchase of essential medicines and strategic supplies in the case of the latter. They also ensure transparency in purchasing processes and are based on the principles of solidarity and Pan-Americanism.

Participation in international tenders with large-scale purchase volumes enables access to effective, high-quality products that comply with international safety standards, at lower prices.

Countries participating in these funds also Benefit from PAHO’s technical cooperation to plan demand and guarantee rational use and continuous supply.
