As part of the implementation of the 75th World Health Assembly’s resolution WHA 75.8 on Strengthening clinical trials to provide high-quality evidence on health interventions and to improve research quality and coordination, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) held a workshop on October 4 and 5, 2023, in Brasilia, Brazil with participants from different countries of the Region of the Americas. The objective was to identify, discuss, and propose concrete actions to strengthen the conduct of scientifically and ethically sound clinical trials in the Region of the Americas. This final report summarizes the reflection and discussion of the issues and challenges identified during the workshop, and presents the key actions proposed by the participants.
