“The Infinite Memory of the Pandemic”: Exhibition Opening in Manaus
he Infinite Memory of the Pandemic: The History of COVID-19 Told by All of Us, Brazilians

Join us for the opening in Manaus of the traveling exhibition “The Infinite Memory of the Pandemic: The History of COVID-19 Told by All of Us, Brazilians”, which will take place on September 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at Centro Cultural Palacete Provincial.

The exhibition presents part of the collection of the COVID-19 Pandemic Digital Memorial, transforming digital records into an interactive multimedia art experience. Across ten immersive stations, visitors explore different dimensions of the pandemic experience in Brazil through personal accounts, photographs, videos, posters, diaries, messages, and testimonies produced by people from different regions, cultures, and backgrounds across the country.

The exhibition explores topics such as social isolation, grief, science, misinformation, solidarity, public health, and collective memory. By bringing together these diverse experiences, it seeks to honor the people affected by COVID-19 and encourage reflection on the emotions, losses, lessons learned, and acts of solidarity that marked this period.

The program includes educational activities and cultural mediation for school groups and the general public. The Manaus exhibition will remain open to the public, with free admission, through November 22. Afterward, it will travel to Fortaleza and Porto Alegre. At the end of the tour, the exhibition will become part of the permanent collection of the Ministry of Health Cultural Center in Rio de Janeiro.

The traveling exhibition “The Infinite Memory of the Pandemic: The History of COVID-19 Told by All of Us, Brazilians” is organized by the Ministry of Health through the Ministry of Health Cultural Center (CCMS) and is based on the collection of the COVID-19 Pandemic Digital Memorial. The initiative was developed through technical cooperation with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), through BIREME – Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information, together with the Digital Humanities Center of the State University of Campinas (CHD/Unicamp).
