Join us on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 4:30 PM (Brasília time), for the launch event of the COVID-19 Pandemic Digital Memorial, which will take place at the Ministry of Health Cultural Center (CCMS), in Rio de Janeiro.
This activity is part of the World Health Day program - Tribute to the Victims of COVID-19, and will bring together authorities, experts, representatives of partner institutions, and members of civil society for a moment of remembrance, reflection, and commitment to the future of public health.
The COVID-19 Pandemic Digital Memorial is an initiative of the Brazilian Ministry of Health, coordinated by the Ministry of Health Cultural Center (CCMS), developed in technical cooperation with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), through BIREME - the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information, in collaboration with the Center for Digital Humanities of the State University of Campinas (CHD/Unicamp).
The COVID-19 Pandemic Digital Memorial portal brings together, organizes, and provides access to records produced during the pandemic in Brazil, with the aim of preserving memory, expanding access to information, and contributing to strengthening preparedness and response to future public health emergencies.
During the event, activities will also include the reopening of the CCMS, the inauguration of artistic installations in tribute to the victims, and the presentation of initiatives related to the response to and consequences of the pandemic in the country.
The event will be held in person, with invited participants, and is part of a broader agenda of social and institutional mobilization around the memory of the pandemic and the strengthening of health systems.

- Inauguration of the monument “Remember to Learn” and the installation “Each name a life”;
- Tribute to Zé Gotinha (Ciranda da Vida Monument and playground);
- Launch of the COVID-19 Pandemic Digital Memorial (Ministry of Health, PAHO/BIREME and Unicamp);
- Distribution of the National Guide for the Management of Post-COVID Conditions within the Health System;
- Projection mapping on the exterior of the CCMS building - artistic tribute to the victims.
