2025 Country Annual Reports
of the Pan American Health Organization
Jarbas Barbosa, director

Director’s message

As we present the 2025 PAHO Country Office Annual Reports, we reflect on a year that tested our resilience, challenged our health systems, and underscored the importance of Pan-Americanism. At the same time as we addressed these challenges through institutional adjustments, important health achievements were made that demonstrate the value of regional solidarity and collective resilience. The reports reflect the Organization’s joint work with Member States and other partners to respond effectively to the Region’s health priorities.

During this period, the Organization and its national counterparts promoted high-impact, life-saving initiatives. Access to essential technologies and treatments, as well as to quality supplies at affordable prices, was expanded through the Regional Revolving Funds. Digital health, primary care, and mental health were strengthened, and progress was made toward the elimination of more than 30 targeted diseases by 2030. In addition, capacities for preparedness and response to outbreaks and emergencies were strengthened, alongside sustained efforts to mobilize resources.

These initiatives not only contribute to protecting the health and well-being of populations, but support stability, security, and social development in the Americas. PAHO appreciates the trust and collaboration of its Member States and partners, and reaffirms its commitment to continue working in a coordinated manner to advance the health and well-being of the people of the Region, with a view to ensuring a better future for all.

The annual reports of the PAHO/WHO country offices present a summary of the main results achieved with the technical cooperation of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in each of the Member States of the Region of the Americas in 2025. In addition to the most relevant achievements obtained together with governments and other key partners, they include stories from the field that tangibly illustrate progress and challenges in the area of health.

The reports reflect PAHO’s sustained commitment to strengthening health systems and responding to national priorities. They are also a fundamental tool for accountability and transparency, promoting policy dialogue, and demonstrating the added value that PAHO offers in the countries of the Region.

By highlighting PAHO’s contributions to the results achieved, the reports also highlight the impact of multi-stakeholder collaboration and support resource mobilization in line with the Organization’s strategic frameworks and each country’s planning and monitoring processes.

These reports, prepared for national authorities and other strategic partners, shed light on joint efforts at the national and local levels, and help to strengthen a shared commitment to health in the Region of the Americas.
